YMCA Camp Safety

YMCA camps go to great lengths to provide a terrific camp experience for the camper in an environment where children can safely try new activities and challenge themselves to meet personal goals.  We achieve these goals by incorporating policies targeted at keeping your camper physically and emotionally safe by practicing policies and procedures that limit the risk to your camper.

Many Wisconsin YMCA Camps are accredited by the American Camp Association which provides a solid operational framework for a healthy and safe camp experience.  Accreditation means that camps have demonstrated compliance with more than 300 individual health, safety, and program quality standards.

These standards establish criteria for

  • Program
  • Personnel
  • Transportation
  • Administrative procedures
  • Health care
  • Food service
  • Program activities and
  • Emergency procedures
Accreditation assures parents and campers that YMCA Camp’s has been measured against national standards for best practices in the camping industry and we are proud to be among only 25% of camps in the United States which are accredited.
